Kyozakura / Kyoto Cherry Blossoms (175 Sticks)
Blooming sakura cherry blossom tree is an iconic symbol of Springtime in Japan. To inspire visions of spring days, Shoyeido has artfully combined rhubarb, clove, cinnamon, and other herbs and spices to create this sweet fragrance. The rhubarb adds a pleasantly tart quality to stimulate the senses.
Asuka and I have found this has a slightly more complex aroma than the other sweet fragrances of Shoyeido we offer (like Horkiawa and Shirakawa). Kyozakura is sweet and soft but has subtle sharp/awakening notes, suggestive of a change in season.

About Shoyeido:
In the early 18th century, Rokubei Moritsune Hata began incorporating incense-making techniques he learned as an employee of Kyoto's Imperial Palace. Twelve generations later, the Hata family continue to create an array of fragrances as Shoyeido. Their incense is considered the highest quality natural incense available worldwide.
Shoyeido's blending process is an art form and draws upon centuries-old recipes to create fragrances. The artisans carefully process the quality, balance, and ratio of every hand-selected natural ingredient. The slightest variation in amount or quality of any component can dramatically influence the outcome. Only the finest raw materials are used. The results are remarkable, subtle scents that encourage us to use all our senses mon-koh, or "listening to incense."
With respect for the environment and a concern for green practices, Shoyeido continues to set the standard in the fragrance industry. They have procured permits from the Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry in Japan, and the US Fish & Wildlife Department to validate that their products are properly accounted for and responsibly harvested. None of their recipes contain animal products and no testing has ever been done on animals.
